Purpose

The Aging Connection™ is a 501(c)(3) corporation whose mission is to provide products and services that support and educate the senior population, their caregivers and the professional community.

Programs

Currently, The Aging Connection™ is focused on three program initiatives:

Adult Day Care Centers

A service that assists faith-based or community-based organizations to provide therapeutic activities in a day care setting for their senior citizens. The objective is to provide management and training services that would enable the client organization to become self-sufficient in the operation of the Day Center.

Navigator
Program

A service that serves seniors who have been diagnosed with serious medical conditions, as well as their caregivers and families. During the course of the medical treatment, the Navigators,  certified trained elder care specialists, provide appropriate resources and enhance commun- ication with physicians and health care staff. They ensure that the patient and/or the family understand the recommendation of the physi- cian. They do not recommend course of treatment nor offer advice.

Acute Care Dementia Protocol

Protocols and training/certification programs to assist acute care hospi- tals, and urgent care facilities with patients with dementia. These proto- cols assist the staff of the facility to communicate effectively with the de- mentia patient and/or caregiver in determining the appropriate course of treatment and minimizing behav- ioral disturbances. This improved  care to the patient; decreases stress for the patient, their family, and pro- fessional staff and reduces  cost for the acute care facility.

Affiliation with NAWS

This relationship allows the Aging Connection™ to draw on a national membership for charitable donations and resources while providing a trustworthy charity to which NAWS members can contribute
